Abstract
"There has been much controversy regarding scientifi cally accurate and persuasive methods of validating psychophysiological veracity (PV) examination
techniques using the polygraph in the identification of guilty and innocent examinees (Krapohl 2006, Gordon 2007, Matte 2007a, 2007b, OTA 1984, NRC
2003). Th is controversy extends to the use of field studies versus laboratory
studies, both of which have their usefulness depending on whether the PV examination technique being evaluated is a lie test such as the Zone Comparison
Test or a recognition test such as the Concealed Information Test. "(...)
