Abstract
"In the year 1912, Hans Gross (1847–1915) founded the Criminological Institute
at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz, thus contributing decisively to the
institutionalisation of Criminology at university level and so becoming one
of the ‘fathers of modern scientifi c criminology’. Gross developed an encyclopaedic
concept of criminology, unifying practical investigation work and
theoretical refl ection under one epistemological roof."(...)
