"Forensic examination of memory traces requires a change of approach to the polygraphic examination, especially the way in which it is conducted. To rely on a comparison, one may say that the diff erence between polygraphic examination as so far understood (lie detection, detection of deception, etc.) and forensic examination of memory traces is much like the difference between examination of traces and microtraces (microtraces are particles of matter or features of a physical action connected to an event that are hardly visible or not visible to the naked eye).
